More Christmas Miniatures!

It seems awfully odd crafting Christmas mini's when we've still been having some sunny weather - albeit, not brilliant this week - but certainly no snow, and no Christmas songs on the radio yet!

Still, I must admit I have seriously enjoyed making these miniatures, and I really hope you'll enjoy looking at them!    




  This Gingerbread Man Preparation Christmas table is simply adorable and would look amazing in any kitchen! The table includes rolled dough and cut out Gingerbread Men, a plate of finished and decorated Gingerbread Men, 5 Gingerbread Men cooling on a rack and a beautiful Gingerbread House decorated with white icing, peppermint circles, candy canes and tiny Christmas coloured balls. The tiny balls were applied individually to ensure a good range of colour and detail! All items are glued to the table.




Still feeling in the mood for Gingebread Men, I went on to continue this smaller Gingerbread Men Decorating Preparation board measuring a meer 3cm x 3cm. The board includes several Gingebread men, a plate of tiny silver balls and a handmade icing bag! All items are glued to the board.

This gorgeous little Christmas card set consists of everything you see in the photo, which includes 2 sealed envelopes, 4 loose Christmas cards and a selection box of cards (all cards in the box are glued inside.) This little set will look fabulous on a busy kitchen table, or sitting in the middle of the coffee table with a mug of hot chocolate waiting for your dolls to finish writing out their Christmas cards! The cards and envelopes are blank so that you can write your own messages and addresses!

I have had such fun making all of these items and am feeling very much in the mood for Christmas all of a sudden! More mini's to come shortly!

One Inch Scale Dolls House Miniature 31 Piece Bread Selection!! Yummy!!

What do you think to these?

I had so much fun making this bread selection. Each bread is unique, and therefore OOAK, as none of them are made from a mould and each one differs in details, size and colour.

I made these breads for hours straight, finding myself completely taken by each piece, adding colours and texture until they looked good enough to each there and then! I made myself a similar selection for my own bakery, but this 31 piece set is now listed on my Etsy shop, Diddies.

Tomorrow is my day off work and I have so many plans :) Hopefully I'll get something interesting done on either the bakery, Bruion, or my new top secret project... dum dum dummm!!

Preparing For Christmas, Already!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have started my preparations for Christmas, in miniature scale!
My Etsy shop (Diddies) has been empty and closed for quite some time! At last, I have re-opened and I thought I would share with you what I have been up to!

I absolutely adore this prep. board. I spent days making, and remaking, most of what you see here. The first board I made, I decided was too big. The pastry was then the wrong colour. I didn't like the look of the mince meat I made. The colours of the book weren't clear enough, and then I kept ripping the flour bag. In the end, I think I came out on top with a gorgeous little mince pie prep. board that I am so proud of!

Next up I decided to make some cookies. I had a bit of practise with making cookies last Christmas, but this time around I think I've really improved! I love the little gingerbread men and the candy cane really finishes off this plate!

More Gingerbread Men!! :)

Hehe, these were so much fun to make! I made lots of mince pies with the intention of displaying them on this plate, to go as a possible set with the other two. I had a bit of mince meat and pastry coloured clay left over from the prep. board, so I decided to add a bitten into mince pie. I coloured these with chalks and watery paint and I think the effects are wonderful! I adore this item, I hope you do too! :)

Now I'm all Christmas-ed out this week, so I'm going to get back to the bakery and get some progress made there!

A Little Gift In The Post

As it's December, strangely enough I've been receiving Christmas cards in the post and today I recieved another! This one was from Rachel at Miniaturemaids Blog.
A while ago now I won first prize in her giveaway. I promised her, at the time, that I would send her a special gift to say thank you. Unfortunately I hadn't found the time or made anything I felt was good enough to send as a present for someone.

A little while ago I made her a few items and sent them to her as a thank you and as an extra Christmas present. This is what I sent her: (these are Rachel's photo's, I hope you don't mind me stealing them Rachel!)

I made her a few Christmas cookies, a yule log,

a couple of hot chocolates, a lemon cake and a

fruit bowl made from a nutshell and filled with fruit (I will be making some more of these and putting them on my Etsy shop in the new year - if you like the one I sent Rachel keep your eyes open at Diddies!).

I know Rachel likes to make hats and corests and rugs,

so I sent her a square of fabric and some ribbons.

I also handstitched her a cushion, this nearly killed me!

This is the first miniature cushion I have ever made! I

was very pleased with it. :)

So in the post this morning, with the card, Rachel had made me another little rug, in Christmas colours. It's very pretty! Here's some photos for you: (click the pics to see a bigger image)

Getting Into The Christmas Spirit

This is the first Christmas I've had to be given the oppertunity to decorate and prepare my dolls house for the winter celebration! This week I've been eagerly making plans for decorating The Olde Post Office and drawing up plans for the new building work that will be done on the Bakers Dozen.. yes, I did say "new building work." You read it correctly.
Hopefully, fingers crossed, if the weather is dry tomorrow, my dad and I will be spending the day outside cutting pieces of wood and preparing the new part that'll be added onto the bakery.. so watch this space!!

So this week I've started the process of preparing The Olde Post Office for Christmas. I've decided that the kitchen, although not fully completed yet (will be for Christmas do not panic!), it'll be fully decked out with a Christmas feast on the table, garlands here there and everywhere and food keeping warm on the aga. I set to making a dent in the food making, and here's a photo below of what I've managed to make so far.
(Apologies for the dreadful lighting. It's only 5.45 here and it's already very dark and the lighting is not the best in this house.)

You can see in this photo the gravy boat, a couple of candy canes, some peas, a hot chocolate with a candy cane and marshmellows (i got the tutorial for the hot chocolate from one of the AIM magazines, can't remember which one though) the carrots with the turkey and if you look closely at the back of the turkey you can see a couple of roast potatos poking round the corner there. There is also some brussel sprouts round the other side of the turkey, but you can't see those. I will take a better photo when I've got the whole Christmas feast completed.

A welcome! A creation! And a weather photo!

First of all, I have to say I am delighted to have this person as a follower of my blog, so please help me welcome MiniMaker! MiniMaker is also the owner of one of my favourite websites My Small Obession Explore her site for free printables and projects, a gallery which will give you huge amounts of inspiration and heaps more! Now, moving on. Today I have been very busy indeed. I made myself a to-do list (which I do every morning anyway - but sadly, nothing much on these lists actually get's done.) Well today I did it! I did everything on my lists and whatever I didn't do, I had a good reason for.

Today my to do list consisted of the following:

- Fit the bedroom carpet (which i didn't do because I decided I didn't like the shade of carpet)
- Finish painting the stairs - done
- Cut and paint all the spindles - done
- Glue all the stair pieces togeather - almost done; reasons why not done to follow shortly!
- Cut pieces for fireplace - done
- Stain fire place - done

Pretty good aye?!?!

Now for the proof!!

Yes there's the stairs and the fireplace. The stairs aren't completed because the banister isn't fitted (which is that white piece of skinny wood there.) And that's not fitted because I plan to buy some newel posts at the fair on Sunday. Good reason? I thought so too.
And yes - I can to a decision on what colour to stain them. I looked at some pictures of other people's stair cases and thought white would work well as if I choose to replace any furniture I won't have to worry about what stain they'd have to be :)
And the fireplace...If you click the picture above you will see the flower detailing on the fireplace. The fireplace isn't finished yet, but it will be once I've put the piece of wood behind it that will push it off the wall a bit more. So yes, that's not finished.. but only because I wont go over to the garage to get a better saw because of this:::

Okay so my camera isn't one of these fancy ones.. I can't capture the rain - but here you can see my drowning horses! Okay so they're not drowning - but that almost lake you see there in the corner of the field - yep, you guessed it - that's not normally there, not until November time anyway! So this is the reason I have done so well with my to-do list today - also we have finished decorating the life sized house. Three rooms in 4 days. Phew! Hard work it is..

So now I am going to relax with some mini projects I want to crack on with tomorrow :) Hope you've all had a good day, bye for now!
